What you’ll get
A setup where an app quietly records what you do on your computer (mainly by taking periodic screenshots of your activity), and then an AI turns that record into a daily summary and useful insights, like where your time goes and what keeps tripping you up. MineContext does the capturing; ChatGPT does the summarizing. It is intermediate: you install an app, connect an AI key, and grant screen-capture permission.
Tools you need
- MineContext (free): an open-source app that captures your “digital context” (your on-screen activity) on your own machine.
- ChatGPT (freemium): turns that captured context into summaries and insights. You connect an AI model key inside MineContext.
Steps

Install MineContext: on its GitHub page, download the version for your system (Windows or Mac) and follow the install instructions. You should end up with the MineContext app installed.

Add your AI key: open MineContext’s settings and enter an AI model API key (for example your OpenAI key). An API key is the secret that lets the app use the AI. You should see it saved or confirmed.

Start recording: click Start Recording (or Begin Monitoring). Grant the screen-capture permission your system asks for. You should see an indicator that it is now capturing your activity.

Get a daily summary: after it has gathered a day (or week) of context, open ChatGPT and ask it to summarize. Paste in the context MineContext collected:
Based on the following record of my digital activities, write a concise daily summary: the key tasks I completed, important decisions, and any notable outcomes. [paste your collected context here]You should get a clear overview of your day.

Ask for insights: follow up to dig deeper:
